The Weekly BUZZ: Zevon Media’s 10th Anniversary!

Happy 10 Year Anniversary to Zevon Media!!!
Congratulations to one of our Hive co-founders and Mill community members, Larry Zevon, for 10 years of building best-in-class WordPress websites at Zevon Media!  He designed both of our websites, The Hive RI and Mill at Lafayette, and has spent the last 20 years building websites…yes, he’s been at it since pretty much the beginning!  Here’s to another 10 years Zevon Media!

Is Coworking at The Hive RI for you?
Do you work at home?  Do you work out of cafes like Starbucks or Panera Bread?  Do you need an address on your business collateral/website?  Come by The Hive RI anytime from 9-5, Monday through Friday, & try out working ‘alone together’ in a space that isn’t a coffee shop or a restaurant but still has that same kind of feel.  We have couches, chairs, tables and desks, coffee and internet connection.  We won’t charge you for the first time or two.  It’s not for everyone but it’s perfect for some, it’s only $150 per month for full-time and $75 for part-time or $15 per hour for the conference room!  If you have questions, just email: Tuni, a.k.a. ‘The Queen Bee’, or if you want to sign up… tunischartner@gmail.com.

Have you always wanted to work in a fun engaged community?
We have a few spaces that just opened up here in our Mill community…from a beautiful space with exposed brick and large windows on the ground floor, to a small private space, as well as a larger space with 2 private offices within it, spaces on the main floor, and a gorgeous space on the top floor.  Contact Tuni or Mike by replying to this email!

The Weekly BUZZ: Artists Wanted!

Artists wanted!
The walls at The Hive are empty and we have some very cool art that is ready to be hung but we need an artist or two (or three) to compliment the 4 pieces we have waiting.  This show is all about ‘connectivity’…Joann Seddon’s work is deep and comes from her long history within the music industry.  Connection to each other, to nature, to what makes each of us ‘feel connected’ is what we are seeking for this Summer Art Show at The Hive RI.  If you, or someone you know, is interested please email Tuni at: tunischartner@gmail.com.

The Weekly BUZZ: The Pigeon Has Landed

Lost Banded Pigeon?
We have a new friend here at the mill & though we don’t mind at all and welcome any that are drawn to our very cool community…we are a little worried about this friendly bird.  If anyone has recommendations on who we should call, what we should feed it (or not feed it), etc…please reply to this email and let us know!  Homer (Tuni’s dog) was totally hanging out with him/her yesterday and it can fly — so we’re just a little confused?

The Weekly BUZZ: History at The Mill!

We appreciate what came before us here at the Mill at Lafayette and feeling a real sense of place is important to us.  We try to promote that within our community here and are proud to host our local historian, Tim Cranston, with annual historical walking tours.  Mark your calendars for our next one, on Saturday, June 1st.  We meet at The Hive for complimentary coffee and pastries at 9:30 then we’re off… This next walk is sponsored by our friends, the Concerned Citizens of Davisville and the Davisville Free Library.  For more information, check out Tim’s Swamptown Enterprises page here
