September’s featured Hive/Mill community member: Waypoint Sanctuary & Wellness Center.
The Waypoint Sanctuary is a unique location that houses both an acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine clinic, as well as offers meditation, qi gong, Tai Chi, and Wudang Kung Fu school.  Come meet Greg Casey, Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, Daoist Priest (DaoShi), and teacher of Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Wudang Kung Fu, & Daoist Meditation. Greg lives and practices in his home state of Rhode Island.  Visit their website & be sure to check them out & follow them on Facebook.

Celebrate Galentine’s and Valentine’s Day at Herbs and Mylk! 🩷

🩷 I’d say ‘Happy New Year’ but it is already February & a perfect time to celebrate how much we LOVE this amazing community here at The Hive RI & Mill at Lafayette!  We are so excited to share that after 12 years of working to build this mill business community – where we work ‘alone together’ – we hit 100% occupancy last week within our campus of 5 historic buildings that offer approximately 85,000 square feet of very unique professional spaces!  We do have some space opening up in early May so if you’ve been thinking about how fantastic it would be to work here where we have over 100 professionals covering a wide array of businesses, please reach out! 

🩷 Celebrate Galentine’s Day at Herbs and Mylk!

🐝 Lunch& Learn with us on Friday, June 14th: Our next Lunch & Learn workshop, The Cornerstones of Remarkable Success, is on Friday, June 14th from noon – 1:00. Join us for this lunchtime presentation filled with inspiration, knowledge, and networking. Learn from an industry expert about the building blocks for not just success, but remarkable success! Looking at examples such as Dave’s Fresh Marketplace, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Patagonia, you will learn how to apply three core success fundamentals to your work or business. This live, no-screen, interactive lunchtime workshop will be taught by Paul Stavrand, a collaborative success builder and longtime Hive member.  Learn more and reserve your spot here!

🐝 Historical Walking Tour with Tim Cranston, part of the Town of North Kingstown’s 350th on Saturday, July 13th.  Mark your calendars and plan on joining us for this lively walking tour around the Lafayette Mill complex.  Along the way you will learn about the Mill’s founder and original owner, Robert Rodman, and how he and the hundreds of folks who lived in the village lived their lives. We will also touch upon topics like the Industrial Revolution, the differences between a southern RI mill village and other mill villages in New England, and the Negro Goods trade. The walk will begin at The Hive RI (the original boiler room!) which is across the parking lot from the waterfall behind the main Lafayette Mill building (in case you haven’t been before) and we’ll be circling through this remarkable place – one of the very best examples of a southern Rhode Island mill village.  For more information and to register, click here.

Open House next Wednesday at The Hive RI with MoMu Designs!  

Join us in supporting our community members, Jeanette & Mikey Mollis!  

🐝 It’s finally here…2024 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Visionaries of the Year campaign! ❤️

For the next 10-weeks Jeanette will be fundraising with the hopes of raising $20,000 in honor of her son & one of our youngest Mill community members, Mikey. Mikey received a LIFE SAVING Bone Marrow Transplant at 6 months old. He received 7 days of a Chemotherapy Plan that they hope will have little to no long term Health Problems (4 different types of Chemo). They have decided to donate all of the money raised to Chemotherapy Research to put together effective plans that lessen long term life threatening health conditions for Children! PLEASE consider making a donation and sharing with your networks, every dollar counts! Here is a link to learn more & donate and she’s hosting an event next Sunday, April 21st in the Herbs & Mylk space here at the Mill from 12-3:00 in which guests will receive a goody bag with handmade skincare, there will be a raffle and much more!

Bluestocking Studio has moved into the Mill & they’re having a ‘re-opening’ this weekend!
