September’s featured Hive/Mill community member: Waypoint Sanctuary & Wellness Center.

Monday Yoga with Dee starts July 7th and we have some cool spaces open in our new/old building…#606!

🧘‍♀️ 💛 Yoga with Dee Harrison debuts on Monday, July 7th 5:30-6:30 at The Bodywork Collaborative!  
These yoga sessions will feature a style of yoga that is about resetting our muscle imbalances for strength and pain free living – more in line with gentle stretching than rapid flow. Participants will be asked to donate any amount to join the sessions (even if it’s just a dollar!) Celebrate Galentine’s and Valentine’s Day at Herbs and Mylk! 🩷

🩷 I’d say ‘Happy New Year’ but it is already February & a perfect time to celebrate how much we LOVE this amazing community here at The Hive RI & Mill at Lafayette!  We are so excited to share that after 12 years of working to build this mill business community – where we work ‘alone together’ – we hit 100% occupancy last week within our campus of 5 historic buildings that offer approximately 85,000 square feet of very unique professional spaces!  We do have some space opening up in early May so if you’ve been thinking about how fantastic it would be to work here where we have over 100 professionals covering a wide array of businesses, please reach out! 

🩷 Celebrate Galentine’s Day at Herbs and Mylk!
Learn more & register here for the very special Herbs and Mylk Galentine’s Day event on Thursday, February 13th from 6-9 pm.  Tickets are $59 per person and they are limited & available only until the 9th!  🥂 Sip & Savor Valentine’s-inspired cocktails & mocktails alongside tasty bites while creating your own heart shaped lotion bar in an interactive skincare workshop!

The Timeless Bride brings their boutique bridal studio to our mill community! 

🚒 Did you go to the Town of North Kingstown’s 350th Anniversary Parade on Saturday?  If you’d like to see some great photos from the day, hop on over to the I LOVE Wickford Village Instagram page (links on bottom left of homepage).  Lori Lyons, owner of Beauty & the Bath, did a great job capturing the event & put together a video that is sure to bring tears of joy & gratitude to your eyes! #community 
🤩 North Kingstown’s 350th: There’s still time to get your commemorative swag!  Be sure to swing by Yes! Gallery if you’re in I Love Wickford Village to purchase an official “North Kingstown 350 Years” collector’s coin, stickers or a large decal while they last!  What an amazing lineup of celebratory events the 350 Committee has been putting together throughout this year to commemorate three and a half centuries of the Town Of North Kingstown…next up is Founder’s Day & Tree Dedication on October 26th!!! 🥳🎶💥🎺🥁

📣 New Mill community member announcement: Join me in welcoming Christine Geer, owner of the specialty boutique bridal studio The Timeless Bride which just opened on the top floor of the Rodman Building this month!  Check out her website & be sure to click on the Instagram link (then follow her) to see videos and pictures of her beautiful collection of curated wedding gowns!

🐾 Join us for the 35th annual Heart & Sole Walk for Animals – Sunday, October 20th at Fort Adams State Park! Many of you have met Homer, The Hive’s mascot that has been a happy coworking member here since he was 10 weeks old?  We found him at The Potter League, a 95 year old animal welfare nonprofit on Aquidneck Island that also runs the state’s only spay/neuter clinic in Warwick, as well as Pets In Need (a full scale veterinary clinic in East Providence that offers affordable pet care for anyone utilizing public assistance).  The Potter League also stocks many pet food pantries across the state, including one at our North Kingstown Food Pantry and has a Community Navigator (social worker) on staff that interacts with many statewide agencies supporting the humans attached to the pets we serve.  Join Homer & I as we walk to raise money for this wonderful organization that saves thousands of pets each year!  Click here to learn how you can support!

🐝 The next ART SHOW at The Hive: Summer Convergence this Saturday, June 29th, from 6:00-9:00.  Please join us!  More information here! 

🐝 Historical Walking Tour with Tim Cranston, part of the Town of North Kingstown’s 350th on Saturday, July 13th.  Mark your calendars and plan on joining us for this lively walking tour around the Lafayette Mill complex.  Along the way you will learn about the Mill’s founder and original owner, Robert Rodman, and how he and the hundreds of folks who lived in the village lived their lives. We will also touch upon topics like the Industrial Revolution, the differences between a southern RI mill village and other mill villages in New England, and the Negro Goods trade. The walk will begin at The Hive RI (the original boiler room!) which is across the parking lot from the waterfall behind the main Lafayette Mill building (in case you haven’t been before) and we’ll be circling through this remarkable place – one of the very best examples of a southern Rhode Island mill village.  For more information and to register, click here.
