We had another fantastic Uncle Jay’s Traveling Breakfast Network Coffee last Friday.  We’re having the next one on Friday, February 22nd from 8:00-9:30.  Mark your calendars.  It’s a great networking event with plenty of ‘regulars’ and plenty of ‘newbies’.  Thank you to all that came, it was awesome!  

What does February at The Hive RI & The Mill at Lafayette look like?  Well, we have new coworkers signing up.  New office tenants moving in.  And, community members (a.k.a. tenants) growing their businesses and scaling UP within the Mill!  Congrats to you all…because #TogetherWeAreStronger and we are a #Community!

Don’t forget…we rescheduled ‘Last Friday Coffee at The Hive RI with Uncle Jay’s Traveling Breakfast Network’ to THIS FRIDAY 2/1…  

We LOVE this event so much, we’re going to have 2 in February…the FIRST & LAST Fridays.  See you this Friday morning, 2/1/19 from 8:00-9:30.  Bring a friend, business cards and lots of positive energy!

Janelle Blakely Photopoulos of, Blakely Interior Design, is a Mill at Lafayette success story.  She started out (years ago & in the beginning) at The Hive RI.  She moved her growing business to Wakefield then moved back into her current amazing custom designed studio at the Mill at Lafayette a couple of years ago.  #ItIsStunning

She has since continued to grow her company and is hosting an information session on one of our favorite resource programs, Goldman Sachs 10K Small Businesses, which she graduated from last year.  Please join us for SMALL BIZ DRINKS to learn more Wednesday, January 16, 5:30 – 7:00 pm at Blakely Interior Design in our Mill and just next door to The Hive RI at 650 Ten Rod Rd, North Kingstown, RI 02852…complimentary refreshments & they’re designers after all so you know it will be amazing!  Please RSVP to erusso@ccri.edu.

Thank you all for a stellar year!  2018 came and went and we’re so excited for all that 2019 has in store for us…

The picture above is from our last ‘Uncle Jay’s Traveling Breakfast Network’s LAST Last Friday Coffee at The Hive’ and, as usual, it was well attended with many regulars and some newcomers!  Always a great event, thank you Uncle Jay White for all that you do.  Your networking events always have that perfect blend of professional, yet real, focused, yet fun, and we look forward to hosting every month!  Mark your calendars now for the last Friday of January (1/25/19) everyone: 8:00 – 9:30 for coffee, connections and Allie’s Donuts!

Office space:

Historical Walk with Tim Cranston!
We were happy to sponsor a fantastic educational walk on Saturday, October 20th with North Kingstown’s own Historian, Tim Cranston, the Land Conservancy of North Kingstown, the Audubon Society of RI and Concerned Citizens of Davisville, as well as about 40 very interested ‘walkers’.  Check out this video to learn more about what we learned, here.  And, if you missed it, don’t fret…stay tuned as we’ll be sponsoring another historical walking tour with Tim in the Spring!

The Weekly BUZZ: Walking Tour and More

Historical Walking Tour This Saturday with Tim Cranston!
Where could you possibly take a quiet walk in the woods and along the way learn something about 19th century industry, transportation via train & ferry to Victorian-era Newport, Native American and early colonial land use; not to mention the struggles of a noble tree species and wetland ecosystems against foreign invaders?

Why The Hive RI/Mill at Lafayette & Ryan Park here in North Kingstown, where else?  Join local historian Tim Cranston and representatives of the Land Conservancy of North Kingstown on a mile & a half hike from our mill in the old Lafayette village to Belleville, this Saturday, October 20th, at 10:00 am. Be prepared for a healthy “sensible shoes” stroll along the gentle woodland trails of this under appreciated recreation asset here in North Kingstown.

*Bus transportation will be provided back to the parking lot of The Hive RI & Mill at Lafayette.
