Donuts!  And networking and coffee…this Friday at The Hive RI!

The current art show “Expressions in Color” showcasing works by Sheila Newquist and Rae Ferguson is ONLY up until August 26th when they’ll have their closing reception (details here).  Also, remember that our resident Fine Arts & Travel Photographer, Cindy Wilson, has a permanent rotating show here as well and you’re always welcome to come for a self guided tour of our gallery Mon-Fri 9-5.  #BuyArt #SupportLocal

Join us at The Hive this Friday night, 5-8pm, for the Open House Reception for “Expressions in Color” showcasing works by Sheila Newquist and Rae Ferguson.  Stop by to meet the artists, see their work and enjoy light refreshments.  You are also always welcome to stop by for a self guided tour anytime during regular coworking hours. To learn more about these fabulous artists and the event, click here.  Also, remember that our resident Fine Arts & Travel Photographer, Cindy Wilson, has a permanent rotating show here as well!

Networking:
What’s better than a Friday networking event at The Hive RI, in the Spring, with Allie’s Donuts & Coffee?  Not much!!!  Join us for our monthly (most months anyway) Last Friday Coffee with Uncle Jay’s Traveling Network this Friday morning from 8:00-9:30am, $5.

Community:
Hive members, Hub Digital Marketing will be presenting their ‘Digital Discourse: Marketing Q & A’ at our ‘brother’ coworking space over in Middletown, Spire Space, co-hosted by the Newport County Chamber of Commerce from 11:00-1:00 (*it’s a free BYOL – Bring Your Own Lunch event) for details and directions, click here!

Art:
Forests of Emotion Art Exhibition by Zachary Prosser (with complimentary pieces by Cindy Wilson Photography & Lori Delfosse/Eden Studio) is live at The Hive.  Stop by anytime Monday through Fridays 9-5 for a self guided tour and be sure to mark your calendars for the official Opening Celebration on Friday, April 28th from 6:00-8:00pm.

We still have 1 office open in The Hive!
Seriously, we usually have a waiting list!!!  It doesn’t happen often but we now have 1 of our coveted 4 private offices within The Hive RI available.  Unlike elsewhere throughout our lovely Mill at Lafayette, these offices are rented month to month, no deposit and no lease required…we just ask for a 30 day notice when you’re ready to move on (or up, as many tenants end up moving into larger spaces within the mill).  These offices are great if you like privacy but also like to be within a community setting.  They are just $300 per month and will go quickly so if you (or someone you know) is interested, please let Tuni know ASAP: tuni@hubdigitalmarketing.com.

Coworking in The Hive RI:
Have you been thinking about ‘coworking’?  We only charge $100 per month and you’re welcome to come ‘test drive at The Hive’ for zero, zip, zilch for the first couple of days!  Come on by, make yourself at home and see if this might be a good fit for you!

The Weekly BUZZ: Friday is BUZZing at The Hive RI…

BIG Event Friday…(tomorrow)!

Art is important…on so many levels and in so many ways. Here within The Hive RI we feature local artists’ work ALWAYS. We have a rotating permanent show going on the ‘left’ side featuring our very own Lafayette Mill community member (and artist in residence) Cindy Wilson Photography. If you click here you can ‘like’ her Facebook page and there’s even a video interview there if you’d like to learn more about her and her work!

We also bring in rotating art shows on the right side and have a new show just hung this week that will host a reception and open house Friday night (as in TOMORROW)!

We will be streaming LIVE on Facebook tomorrow at 11:00am…tune in for a sneak peek at the beautiful works that adorn our walls! If you can’t tune in while we’re LIVE, no worries, as we’ll be saving the video on our ‘The Hive RI‘ Facebook page so you can view it anytime. For show details click here.

She also teaches photography (all levels) to individuals and classes and leads groups on photography adventures all over the world multiple times per year. The use of social media for business is recognized as a critical tool in any organizations’ marketing plan. There are many different platforms that can be used. Choosing the right ones for your business and knowing how to use them are all part of the puzzle that must be solved. Facebook and twitter are two of the biggest and most popular, but there are other avenues that can be used to get your message out to your audience and to get them to respond in the way you want (buy something, attend an event, state a position, etc.).

We’re going to keep promoting this event up until it happens NEXT Monday, August 8th… Total Exposure Networking (T.E.N.)! 

Our Lunch & Learn program will be back August 18th but in the mean time we’re hosting Richard Austin’s next T.E.N. event!  Total Exposure Networking…have you heard of it?

At most networking events you’re lucky if you get to talk to 9 or 10 people. Even then, are you delivering your message or just talking about the weather or the latest news headlines? At Total Exposure Networking (TEN), we make sure that you get to deliver your pitch to everyone in the room! Our unique TEN format consists of starting out with food, drink, and general conversation. Then, when everyone is there, we pick 5 people, and they each have one minute to give their pitch to everyone in the room. Now for the good part – we then take 10 minutes to allow anyone to talk with those who just spoke – to ask questions, learn more, and make appointments. Then we pick 5 more and do it again, and again, using the 5/10 format until everyone has had the opportunity to deliver their pitch to everyone in the room! A perfect TEN!
