The Hive RI’s Weekly BUZZ! ❄️

Speaker Series starts next Tuesday, 2/7 noon-1:00

We are so excited to have events starting back up at The Hive RI beginning with our new monthly speaker series next Tuesday, February 7th.  

🎤 ☕️  Burnout, Self-Regulation & Nervous System Health with Coral Brown Come learn and enjoy a very relaxed conversation at The Hive RI next Tuesday, February 7th from noon-1:00.  Bring your lunch and we’ll provide delicious artisan roasted coffee from our friends at North Koffee (some treats too).  More information on our mill community member and co-owner of Island Heron Yoga, Coral Brown, here. We’re keeping these small and impactful so please register here as space is limited!   

March 8th brings our dear friend & supporter, Sean O’Callaghan. Sean is a dynamic speaker and I’ve always had great feedback from the many presentations I’ve talked him into doing!  He will talk about ‘Being human in a techno-human world’ and the Eventbrite with more information will be shared in next week’s BUZZ email.

More about Sean: “I serve as Director of the PhD and MA in Humanities and Technology at Salve Regina University. The programs encompass the relationship between Science/Technology and the Humanities/Liberal Arts.  Most of my own personal research is conducted in the fields of Human/Cognitive Enhancement, Transhumanism, the Techno human, International Relations and Theology/Religious Studies.”

A few days late!  Sorry everyone, it was a busy January and it is proving to be an equally busy February for the Queen Bee! 

What’s Going On…
Have any of you heard of ‘Best for RI’?  The Social Enterprise Greenhouse launched this program last Spring.  If you’re wanting to ‘do well’ and ‘do good’ in your business you should go to the website and take the challenge.  There are great tips and tools there to help you become a more socially conscious business and if you want to dive a little deeper they have that option too…and there are even prizes involved! Click here to take the challenge and learn more.

We are getting excited about our next AMP-RI (Advertising, Marketing & PR) event at Sonoma Bistro & Wine Bar on Tuesday the 13th!  Adam Roth of URI will be talking about how ‘Digital Natives are not always digitally fluent!’  To register or learn more, click here.

Small Business owners that want to GROW their businesses, there’s a B.Y.O.B. (Bring Your Own Business) Workshop coming to The Hive and space is limited.  Learn more about this accelerated growth strategy bootcamp style group workshop here.

Art Gallery at The Hive RI
The current Art Show at The Hive RI… Details here.  Plus…I’ve added ‘mini art shows’ in my TS Consulting/TRS Strategies office – so we now have 3 shows within The Hive RI running simultaneously!  How exciting is that?!  We always feature the revolving work of Cindy Wilson Photography in the large space to the left (sort of the ‘center’ space here) and I’ve recently decided to run a revolving mini show in my office.  I currently have the work of Susan Fox, as well as the remainder of Janelle Feigley/Elle Art Design‘s #PeopleProject pieces from her October Breast Cancer fundraiser.  These pieces are available for $128 each and ALL the proceeds go directly to Breast Cancer research & awareness.

The Weekly BUZZ: Vision Boards, Events, and Art!

What’s Going On…
This week’s featured event is a double header with our Hiver, Gigi Gravel – Lifestyle Architect, running a 2 day workshop here at The Hive RI this coming Saturday & Sunday.  You can sign up for one, or both (recommended) and ALL who attend her workshops leave feeling a sense of clarity & with a solid definition of what they really want in the year ahead!  For more information and/or to register click here!

We are also excited about next week’s AMP-RI (Advertising, Marketing & PR) event at The Vig in Providence where Peter George will be presenting: ‘Grow Your Business! Attract More Clients! Enjoy Greater Success’.  To register or learn more, click here.  I’m excited to have recently joined the board of AMP-RI and hope some of you will consider becoming a member and attending our events in 2018 (many exciting changes in the works with this organization as we freshen things up for the new year ahead)!

The Weekly BUZZ: So Many Events!

There’s a lot happening in RI business community during the Summer…and the event locations are unbelievable!

We recently enjoyed a fantastic East Greenwich Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours hosted by our friends at the Rocky Hill School.  Dr. Jim Tracy (above left), the head of school at RHS, introduced Liam Pisano (above right), Executive Director of LearnLaunch – a world class EdTech incubator/coworking space based in Boston.  Stay tuned as the Rocky Hill School is partnering with LearnLaunch and will host a satellite on the RHS grounds next year.  Very exciting!

From the grounds of the RHS to the International Tennis Hall of Fame with the Newport County Chamber of Commerce…we’ve been very busy this summer season – having fun & working hard with our colleagues all over this beautiful state!

Guess what?  The Hive RI has a brand spanking new website thanks to our co-founder, Larry Zevon of Zevon Media!  Thanks Larry, we love the new simplified version!  Check it out here!  If you, or someone you know, needs a customized WordPress site Larry’s the man!

Rainy day ride at the Mill!
You never know what you might see at the mill!  Today the big boys (Edward & Lenny) from New Deal Horse & Carriage stopped by to scoop up the Queen Bee and head out for a rainy ride through the trails of Ryan Park (did you know that we are adjacent to a beautiful town park?).  If you missed them they’ll be in Wickford Village this Saturday morning giving ‘a Pirate’s Tour of Wickford’ wagon ride with local historian Tim Cranston.  For more information or to buy tickets click here.

The Weekly BUZZ: Work Life Balance

The Weekly BUZZ… #WorkLifeBalance

How important is balance to you?
Here at The Hive RI & the Mill at Lafayette we think exposure to natural light, easy access to walking, running & biking trails and a community environment are all important components to creating a healthy work/life balance.  Whether someone just takes advantage of a work space or office with tons of natural lightor likes to utilize our wooded trails for exercise or meetings or maybe likes to take their work outside next to the waterfall…we believe it’s super important to have these options and love being able to continue to offer all of this to our growing community!

We have space at the Mill:
If you’re looking to relocate your business and are interested in being a part of a thriving community…check out our available spaces here!  We have a couple of small offices upstairs in the Rodman bldg. available – one is $340 per month, the other is $450 – they both require a minimum of a one year lease and a deposit.  We also have two spaces that are around 1k square feet and will be built out to suit new tenants.  One of those spaces is wide open with a white brick wall on the street facing side with tons of light from those sexy ginormous windows and the other also has multiple windows and can be designed & built out.
