How important is balance to you?
Here at The Hive RI & the Mill at Lafayette we think exposure to natural light, easy access to walking, running & biking trails and a community environment are all important components to creating a healthy work/life balance.  Whether someone just takes advantage of a work space or office with tons of natural lightor likes to utilize our wooded trails for exercise or meetings or maybe likes to take their work outside next to the waterfall…we believe it’s super important to have these options and love being able to continue to offer all of this to our growing community!

We have space at the Mill:
If you’re looking to relocate your business and are interested in being a part of a thriving community…check out our available spaces here!  We have a couple of small offices upstairs in the Rodman bldg. available – one is $340 per month, the other is $450 – they both require a minimum of a one year lease and a deposit.  We also have two spaces that are around 1k square feet and will be built out to suit new tenants.  One of those spaces is wide open with a white brick wall on the street facing side with tons of light from those sexy ginormous windows and the other also has multiple windows and can be designed & built out.

Art:
Forests of Emotion Art Exhibition by Zachary Prosser (with complimentary pieces by Cindy Wilson Photography & Lori Delfosse/Eden Studio) is live at The Hive.  Stop by anytime Monday through Fridays 9-5 for a self guided tour. The official Opening Celebration on Friday was a HUGE success but there are still a few pieces left!

The Weekly BUZZ: Welcome Post Road CrossFit!

The Weekly BUZZ…

HUGE welcome to our newest mill community members, Post Road CrossFit.  After a lot of hard prep work, they moved in to the dye house (connected to the waterfall) over the weekend and are completely OPEN!  Check out their website and head over to their Facebook page to check out their schedule (sign up today), ‘Like’ and follow them!

We still have 2 offices open in The Hive!
Seriously, we usually have a waiting list!!!  It doesn’t happen often but we now have 2 of our coveted 4 private offices within The Hive RI available.  Unlike elsewhere throughout our lovely Mill at Lafayette, these offices are rented month to month, no deposit and no lease required…we just ask for a 30 day notice when you’re ready to move on (or up, as many tenants end up moving into larger spaces within the mill).  These offices are great if you like privacy but also like to be within a community setting.  They are just $300 per month and will go quickly so if you (or someone you know) is interested, please let Tuni know ASAP: tuni@hubdigitalmarketing.com.

What’s Old Is New Again!  Well, they’re not really old but we are SO excited to announce that Blakely Interior Design has moved back to the mill & their official Ribbon Cutting & Grand Opening Celebration will be on Friday, April 7th from 5-8PM!  Blakely Interior Design started right here in The Hive RI, outgrew that space, moved to Wakefield for the last 3 years and has now come home again to a gorgeous new space.  Congratulations on your continued growth Janelle!

Happy Spring!

We’re SO happy that Spring has Sprung…waiting patiently (not so patiently) for warmer temps but excited that the days are longer, the sun is higher and warmer temps are around the corner.  One of our coworkers is riding his bike to work, go Nathan, and many of us are excited to started walking the trails again at Ryan Park!

Come on by tomorrow between 10:00-1:00 to donate blood.  Our mill community members, Powr-Premier Orthopedics & Work Rehabilitation is hosting their annual event & we hope you can make it!  The Blood Mobile will be parked out front, tell your friends & family…

Wishing everyone a very happy and love filled Valentine’s Day!  It’s all about the love, all the time, here at The Hive RI and the Mill at Lafayette so we obviously LOVE this holiday!  We are offering FREE coworking to anyone interested on Valentine’s Day – stop by for a little while or the whole day, we’d love to see you!  We are open 9:00-5:00.

A normal week at The Hive RI:
Well, there is no such thing as ‘normal’ really but last week was busy with new coworkers starting and new office tenants moving in throughout the mill!  We had a couple of video shoots down here in The Hive and upstairs in the mill,click here to see a sampling!  We have so many cool businesses within our community from photographers and videographers to architects to IT staffing to a hair salon and so many more!

The Weekly Buzz: Community Based Economy

The Weekly BUZZ…

Community Based Economy
Community is what we’re all about…whether you’re a member of the coworking space here at The Hive RI or whether you’re a tenant in our larger mill community, a person or a group in our local community or part of the RI business community…

We often refer to our on-going growth as a ‘Community Based Economy’ and I know that might sound confusing to some so here’s a basic definition: ‘Recently, the more mainstream approach of Independent Business Alliance organizing has spread across the U.S., helping independent, locally owned businesses compete effectively and countering the spread of corporate chains at the local level.’ for more of an explanation, click here. But, either way, you get the idea – basically ‘together we are stronger’. We are so proud of all the amazing people and businesses that make up our community here at The Hive RI and the Mill at Lafayette and can’t believe how we continue to grow as new members are joining weekly! We are very excited to welcome back Janelle Blakely Photopoulos & her Blakely Interior Design team. Janelle moved her new business into one of The Hive’s 4 private offices a few years ago, outgrew that space, moved to Wakefield for the last couple of years, has outgrown that space and will be moving into their permanent (hopefully anyway) space here within the Mill this week. Pictures and official announcement coming soon.
